About the Role and Responsibilities
Location: Waterloo, ON
About the Role:
Working with the Consumer Quality Assurance team you will have the opportunity of ensuring that the software applications we create are of the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing in Python 2.7.X
- Performing design and code-reviews
- Following and adhering to our Agile/SCRUM model
- Providing support for our test automation platform across a variety of customers looking to extend for their own purposes
- Assisting groups in developing and extending METAL – our high-level test automation language
- Providing support for our test automation server – enhancements, new features and bug fixes
- Researching product features and API that require test automation support and providing design suggestions for creating hooks into our test automation framework
- Being passionate about software quality – adhering to our continuous integration process, writing unit and integration tests
Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills & Education:
- Prior scripting experience: at least 3 years writing/developing test automation scripts and/or tools and applications using one of Python, Ruby or PERL (Python preferred)
- Some application development experience, extending at least 3 years in C#, C++ in Windows (preferred) or Linux/Unix; or Advanced Java through either employment, education or a combination of both
- Interest in studying diverse and complex problems and deriving creative solutions to meet those problems
- Solid communication skills: engagement, writing and verbal communication
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, a related technical field and/or relevant previous experience
